As it stands, I’m going to be painting a lot more circles over the next few weeks. Something about this idea captivates me. Rationally, I can’t describe it – so I guess I’ll have to explore it by doing.
Today, the first part of “doing” was already assembling in my head when I woke up: A colored primer and then applying dabs of color on top of that, which I would then blend together in a single sweep on the paper. It was clear to me that this “sweep” had to be concentrated so that the colors didn’t blend into a muddy brown. The color scheme in the blob was bright, luminous and colorful. And then: The brush was applied and everything disappeared into a dirty olive. Yes, I knew it and at the same time I didn’t know it. There are things we have to learn physically. Experiential knowledge cannot be grasped with the mind. And exactly for this reason I will continue to create circles until something is explored to the end.
And who knows: Maybe someone can relate to exactly this color sound.
